My name is Kevin Ragothaman and I am excited to be joining the group at Foot and Ankle Associates! I was born in San Jose and went to high school in Cupertino. (Go Matadors!) I have spent the last few years training on the East Coast, which has given me many great opportunities to develop my craft.
During my residency, I committed ample time to studying and publishing research related to wounds and those who are prone to limb loss, particularly diabetes. A large reason for me to return to the Bay Area is to contribute to the health care of the local community. South Asians in particular are at great risk for having type 2 diabetes as well as cardiovascular disease, which can include peripheral vascular disease. These conditions can contribute to deterioration of foot health and increase risk of amputation and I am devoted to practicing preventive care in managing these conditions early to maintain function.
For fun, I am a music enthusiast and love to attend concerts from local and well-known artists. I have played the veena and the guitar since a young age and played with a couple of bands during high school and college for fun. I love to support local art, especially the talent of the Bay Area. The COVID pandemic has been tough for all of us, particularly for artists that rely on live performance. However, when day to day life comes back to normal in the future, I am optimistic that we will be able to enjoy the things we may have taken for granted with an increased level of gratitude!
I am grateful to be joining the Foot and Ankle Associates because of their dedication to the health of this community and their desire to care for the patient as a whole. I look forward to meeting you in our office!
