My name is Jisun Julia Lee, and I am so excited to be part of the Foot and Ankle Associates family. I grew up in New York and completed my bachelor’s and master’s degree in Chemistry at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Then, I moved to California and received my Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Western University School of Podiatric Medicine.
I completed my residency in the Bay Area at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, Stanford Medical Center, and Kaiser Permanente Medical Center. During my residency, I fell in love with the South Bay where I was able to experience diverse cultural backgrounds as well as the beautiful nature the Bay offers us. After residency training, with a great passion for the podiatric profession, I went to Iowa for a Trauma and Foot and Ankle Reconstruction fellowship to further enhance my surgical and clinical skills and knowledge. Now, I am so grateful to be back to the South Bay to join Foot and Ankle Associates and thrilled to meet everyone who needs help with their foot and ankle problems.
I believe in giving back to the community, and I have a passion for helping those who need more medical and surgical care in underserved areas. I have attended numerous community events such as Special Olympics and foot screenings. Moreover, I had the privilege to participate in international medical missions. They were one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences I treasure. Seeing the joyful faces of patients when they were seen by physicians truly touched my heart and fulfilled the same joy in my heart. Also, witnessing non-ambulatory patients walking when we returned to the country after surgical correction of the limb from the previous mission trip reminded me how grateful I am to be a podiatric surgeon.
